Street Prayer Day

We had a day of street prayer and called it The Cardinal Road Day of Prayer because that is the street our church is on. In an effort to show the youth that our mission work first starts in our own neighborhood, we hung door hangers on every door in our community. On one side was info about the Day of Prayer, with an invite to the free BBQ, and on the other side were blank lines where they could write in a prayer request.

A small note at the bottom gave them all the instruction they needed.
1.We would be back the next day to retrieve all of the door hangers.
2.If there was one hanging from the door, we would confidentially pray over the needs. If there wasn’t one, we would not bother them further about it.

We had a great response for the prayer requests and for the BBQ. Several people wanted to talk to us on the spot as we dropped off the door hangers, and also as we picked them up the next day. That was cool! Additionally, several new families made their way into our church via the free BBQ. Some of these families have teens that are now a part of our youth ministry.

Even better, the overall church leadership saw the response and has since adopted it to be a church-wide event.
