For this game, you need two identical bowls with spoons – one filled with salt, the other with sugar, and three students. Send students A and B (both forewarned) and C (unsuspecting) out of the room.
Inform A (who already knows this) that he or she is to try to convince C to buy this bowl of sugar. Then let C know that he or she will have a turn as well trying to sell to B.
Make A put on a cheesy leisure suit jacket (maybe plaid pants and a white belt). Student A comes in with a bowl of sugar expounding on how great it is. He/she tries to sell C on buying some of the delicious sugar by having him/her taste it while taking a huge spoonful himself. C will not be too impressed with A’s selling ability.
Then tell C that he/she can top that performance. Have C try to sell some to B. While C is putting on the outfit, switch the sugar bowl for the salt bowl.
