October 7, 2014 at 7:58 amGlen. He is a great guy always tries to do what is right, great example of what it means to be a man, not your stereotypical man but shows another side of manhood that oys these days need to see.
Thanks for all you do Jonathan you are a huge help in ministry.
Grant.

October 7, 2014 at 8:44 amDaryl. He’s broken and haunted at times by his past but because of this, it allows him to connect with some of the others as he interacts with them. He is humble, loyal, and has a heart. He has also proved to be selfless on several occasions…Daryl stays true to these traits in this post-apocalypse world where the opposite could seem more beneficial to his survival. He’s the real deal, in my opinion.
Thanks for the work that you do, Jonathan.

October 7, 2014 at 9:16 amDaryl. Even with the problems of his past, he shows the desire to change. He doesn’t bend when pressured, but strives to do the right thing. He shows that even with no good example as a boy, a person can still learn to be a man.

October 7, 2014 at 12:29 pmRick is my favorite character because he represents so many facets of our modern humanity. As a leader he is strong as he keeps the group together and yet he is also flawed because he cannot always make the perfect decision. He carries a heavy burden because people look to him for leadership and guidance which he never asked for. He never sought out his position, it was thrust upon him as events unfolded. Many times he doubted his own abilities and even stepped back to let others take over when he needed to work out his own demons. He has weaknesses. He has doubts. He doesn’t have answers to many questions. And he doesn’t know if he believes in God. But he clings to what he believes is good and right and does his best to keep hope alive in a degenerate world. His imperfections make him a believable character that I can identify with and root for because his heart is in the right place. And when stuff hits the fan, he rises to the occasion and finds himself back in the forefront of the fight. No matter what life throws at him and his group, he keeps going, keeps trying to do what’s good and right despite the pressures to abandon his morals and the temptations to override his judgement. He is like a goliath fighting for the weak and innocent.

October 7, 2014 at 1:23 pmDaryl’s really cool, but I’m gonna go with Michonne as my current favorite character. Not for any actual meaningful reasons, but solely based on her having some of my favorite walker kills. And for youth ministry purposes, she gave us a reason to say “it’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye”, right?
Guns and crossbows can miss or run out of ammo, but a samurai sword will never fail you. (Pretty sure that’s in the Bible somewhere.)

October 7, 2014 at 1:39 pmGlenn because he is quick on his feet and always backs up the group

October 7, 2014 at 4:55 pmGlenn – I think he tries to do what is right even though he knows he isn’t perfect.

October 8, 2014 at 8:15 amI’m gonna go with Daryl because, well, he’s Daryl. Good ol’ country boy that tries to do the right thing.
But, I’m going to give a shout out to Beth, too. She’s probably viewed more as a secondary character, but, I like the way she maintains a level of innocence, kindness, and happiness in spite of the world around her. Isn’t that what we in youth ministry try to teach our kids every chance we get?

October 8, 2014 at 10:55 amRick. He is so conflicted. And who wouldn’t go crazy in a world like this?

October 8, 2014 at 11:11 amDaryl for sure!
Even from the beginning when he was a complete jerk, and seemed to hate everyone. I could see the redemption story beginning, and as the seasons have progressed the story of Daryl is what keeps me watching the show. I love a good redemption story because we all need redemption.

October 8, 2014 at 11:13 amBeth!!! She is always so positive and uplifting. She stays in the back ground for the most part, and do you know why? Because she is doing all of the jobs that no one wants to do. But she can kick zombie but as well as the rest of them. And she got her foot caught in a bear trapand didn’t even cry!

October 8, 2014 at 12:59 pmRick is my favorite character. I enjoy watching him wrestle through figuring out the right thing to do for the group.
Pamela Bryson
October 8, 2014 at 4:09 pmMy favorite character is Daryl because we have all made mistakes and those mistakes do not have to define who we are.
Cooper Miller
October 8, 2014 at 4:38 pmMichonne – I absolutely love her character and how they developed her this last season. She is witty, funny, and has a katana.
So excited for Sunday!

October 9, 2014 at 7:58 amThere were so many great characters in this Series! Some of my favorites have been killed already! Dale and Hershel! For the ones that are still alive it is a toss up between Rick, Daryl, and Michonne! If I were to pick my favorite character who is still alive that would have to be Rick because he tries to lead with the best intentions. It would be really hard to lead a group in an atmosphere like that!
Jonathan McKee
October 9, 2014 at 8:14 amThanks Jerrod… I’m so glad you said Hershell. I was waiting for someone to mention this important character who died already (hmmmm… and important character who died sacrificially for the group). I wasn’t crazy about Hershell when the group first came to his farm, but once they were in the prison his true colors showed. His selflessness was amazing. Great character!

October 11, 2014 at 8:35 amHershell. He is a wise, faithful, honest man who never gives up hope. He loves his family and group to the point of death.

October 11, 2014 at 1:26 pmAll the actors are amazing but i must say my fav is Daryl, Redneck all the way, true hunter and provider. Very loyal to the group and always has the groups back. a shout out to his brother Merle, even though he was messed up in the 1st season he seemed to come around and helped the group out with there battle against the Governor.

October 11, 2014 at 6:10 pmI like Rick the best because he was an officer of the law, a loving father and husband, and someone who has always sought to do what is right. In a word which has “moved on,”Rick has found it more and more difficult to navigate the shifting loyalties of those left in the world. He has lost loved ones and made wrong decisions, watched good people die while evil ones seem to thrive, and even had to kill his best friend after having to helplessly stand by and watch him seduced and overcome with bitterness, jealousy, and greed. Rick is doing the best that he can to do the best he can.In the end, that is all any of us can really do.

October 13, 2014 at 5:22 amDaryl. He puts others first over his own self. He has a loving heart and genuinely cares for his people. He serves through leadership, protection, and supplier. He is loyal. He knows his role as a Timothy to Rick’s Paul and accepts this position. He does whatever he has to for the greater good. He is searching for something to believe in. I also have a life sized stand up of him in my living room.

October 13, 2014 at 9:03 amThis is not a favorite character reply, but a comment on last night’s episode. The content is fertile soil. However, the graphic scenes and violence have been taken to a new level. I’m not sure I’m comfortable having our youth watch it. Maybe that is why I need to have them do so?
