Yours, Mine and Ours (2/28/2006)

Rated PG for some mild crude humor

Directed by Raja Gosnell (Scooby-Doo, Never Been Kissed, Big Mamma’s House)

Starring Dennis Quaid, Rene Russo, Sean Faris…

Scoot over Cheaper by the Dozen… you just got outnumbered!

This is the story…of a man named Frank Beardsley (Quaid), an orderly, anal retentive, Coast Guard Admiral whose wife died years ago and is left to raise his 8 children. This is the story…of a lovely Helen North (Russo), a disorganized, widowed handbag designer who is left to raise her 10 children.

And the one day when the lady met this fellow…

Chaos ensued!

Yours, Mine and Ours was a fantastic family film. It’s clean, funny and romantic. Kids and parents will like it the same.

The film really captured what could happen when a neat freak marries a slob. From the scene where Frank first reveals his computer printout of the bathroom schedule only to receive giggles from the new members of the family…to the time when he notices that Helen doesn’t put the cap on the toothpaste when she’s done with it. Many of us could relate.

The dialogue was funny and the gags weren’t contrived.

The film is a modern fairy tale with an ending that will leave you smiling as you walk out of the theatre.

SHOULD KIDS SEE IT?
Absolutely, they’ll love it. I brought one of my kids to the screening and we were laughing throughout the entire film. Nothing made me squirm or regret bringing my son to the film.
