An instant family classic!

Walt Disney Animation Studios proudly presents the wonderful new adventure, WINNIE THE POOH. Return to the Hundred Acre Wood for a heartwarming original movie, and reunite with the beloved bear and his silly but steadfast friends for a magical family experience. When sad old Eeyore loses his tail, Owl sends the whole gang — Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga and Roo — on a wild journey to help Eeyore and save Christopher Robin from the mysterious Bakson. Inspired by five stories from A.A. Milne’s books and created in Disney’s legendary hand-drawn style, this all-new classic introduces one of the world’s most cherished characters to a whole new generation. Narrated by John Cleese and bursting with brand-new songs performed by Zooey Deschanel, this wonderfully whimsical film is a must-own for every family’s movie collection!

My wife is a huge Winnie the Pooh fan. She’s decorated our kids rooms with Pooh Bear when they were babies, she owns several movies that they grew up watching…and like 50 bears (all dressed in different outfits – one even in a Pittsburgh Steeler’s shirt). So I was pretty familiar with the characters. I mean, who doesn’t like the cute bear and the crazy tiger named Tigger?

But it’s a children’s movie so I was expecting an overly simplistic story with less than amazing animation. Of course I kept that opinion to myself as the entire family sat down to watch Winnie the Pooh.

For the next hour I was pleasantly surprised and found myself really enjoying this fun little movie.

Now, true, the story is simplistic but it is pure, wholesome and (at the risk of receiving ridicule)…cute.

With a great cast voicing the classic characters and one valuable lesson after another Winnie the Pooh is pure family entertainment and we should all take an hour to enjoy this wonderful film. It’s “Worth Buying.”

SHOULD KIDS SEE IT?
Yes, this is a wonderful movie for the entire family.

Three Simple Questions (with Answers You May Be Looking for):

Q: What’s the message/theme of this movie?
A: This fun little movie is all about the whole gang helping Eeyore find his tail. Each one is so different from the other with different gifts and different ideas, but they all work together.

Q: How do you suppose we—as serious Christ-followers—should react to this movie?
A: What are some of the things we can learn from this movie?

God created people to be dependent on one another. This is especially true in His church. The Bible says that the church is like a body where every individual part is dependent on the others.

Read Romans 12:4-8
Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. (NLT)

Why do you think teamwork is valuable?

Q: How can we move from healthy, Bible-based opinions about this movie to actually living out those opinions?
A: By working together, we are able to multiply the results of our efforts. Working in a team is always better than one person doing everything on their own. We see greater results, learn from one another, and sometimes even protect one another from mistakes. It is crucial that we learn the value of teamwork.

What are some ways you can be a good teammate?
