Wild Hogs (8/14/2007)

Rated PG-13 for crude and sexual content, and some violence.

Directed by Walt Becker (Van Wilder)

Staring Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, William H. Macy, Ray Liotta, Marisa Tomei…

Wild Hogs is probably City Slickers meets The Three Amigos. But don’t have your expectations quite that high.

Don’t get me wrong… Wild Hogs is funny. It actually exceeded my expectations, but that’s because my expectations were really low.

The film is about a group of suburban biker “wannabes” who go on a road trip hoping to find answers to their mid life crisis. Their trip turns South (SouthWest actually) when they tick off a gang of real bikers in New Mexico.

Wild Hogs has some really comical moments. The four leads are very funny and provide more laughs than the proverbial slapstick that the previews might have conveyed. But the movie is far from good “clean” fun.

SHOULD KIDS SEE IT?
Nope. Not only are the jokes raunchy, they’re for adults. Most kids just won’t understand or even relate. It would be similar to letting your kids watch When Harry Met Sally or City Slickers.

Side Note:
As said above, we don’t recommend your kids see this film. But on the occasion that they actually have already seen it, you may want to dialogue about the film with them. These questions below may be a help to you.
