Stupid Skits

Spaceship

Spaceship

Cast:
3 Men (workers)
1 Observer

When the scene opens, 3 men (workers) are working on something quite feverishly. It needs to be hard to tell what they are doing, but they need to be very intense. The crowd should overhear them mumbling to themselves about cutting and measuring, saying “hand me that” and making sure everything is okay etc. The skit starts when someone walks up to observe what they are doing.

Observer: “What are you guys doing?”

Worker 1: “We’re working on something. Go away and leave us alone!” (The observer shrugs his shoulders and walks away. The men resume their work.)

(A few moments later, the same person comes back to look in on them.)

Observer: “Well, it looks like you guys are working on something awful important.”

Worker 2: “We are! Now leave us alone!” (Observer shrugs his shoulders again and walks on about his business.)

(A few moments later, the same person comes back to look in on them, again.)

Observer: “Can you tell me what you’re working on now?”

Worker 3: “It’s a spaceship, if you must know!”

Observer: “A spaceship? What are you gonna do with a spaceship?”

Worker 2: “We’re gonna use it to go to the sun.”

Observer: “But the surface of the sun is too hot! You’ll die there!”

Worker 1: “Not if we go at night! Duh!”

Observer: “Carry on.” (He then walks away to leave them at their work.)
