The Shrek magic is back!

A bored and domesticated Shrek makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin to get back to feeling like a real ogre again. But when he's duped and sent to a twisted version of Far Far Away. In this new place Rumpelstiltskin is king, ogres are hunted, and he and Fiona have never met, so he sets out to restore his world and reclaim his true love.

I was a huge fan of the first Shrek movie. I laughed all the way through it (yes even at those inappropriate parts). The second one was ok and the third one left me wondering what in the world happened. So I wasn’t standing in any long lines to buy a Shrek Forever After ticket. But I am so glad I finally saw it.

Not only is the film filled with fart jokes and other “crude humor” but there really is a great story/moral lesson. Shrek is at a place where he is regretting some of his life decisions, and looking at some greener grass. But in the that classic “you don’t know what you got till it’s gone” story, Shrek realizes how much he loves his wife, children and friend …even that annoying donkey. It’s a lot like It’s A Wonderful Life, but with a big green ogre instead of Jimmy Stewart.

Dohrn’s pint-sized, snivelling villain is a colourful addition to the cast and he brings some much needed energy to film. Murphy is somewhat subdued …or his screen time just got cut, either way it worked for me.

I loved this one…enough to give it a Theater Worthy.

SHOULD KIDS SEE IT?
There is plenty of that crude Shrek humor, but my family loved it.
