Shaggy Dog, The (8/1/2006)

Rated PG for some mild rude humor.

Directed by Brian Robbins

Starring Tim Allen, Robert Downey Jr.

This was a halfway decent family film.

I probably went into the theatre with expectations a little high. I like Tim Allen. The Santa Clause movies were a hit in my house. Shaggy Dog was more like one of the Beethoven sequels.

The movie is a remake of the original where a man tries to live a normal life despite the fact that he sometimes turns into a sheepdog.

Funny and mildly entertaining… I’d watch it if there was nothing else on.

SHOULD KIDS SEE IT?
One nice thing about this movie is the fact that it was fairly clean—truly PG. The film makes a few mild rude jokes, like about “being in heat,” etc. But it was very tame by today’s standards.
