Rated PG for sequences of violence/peril and action, language and a couple of suggestive moments.
Directed by Martin Campbell (The Mask of Zorro, Vertical Limit, GoldenEye…)
Starring Antonio Banderas, Catherine Zeta-Jones…

Rent the original.
Maybe that was my problem. When I heard the sequel to 1998’s The Mask of Zorro was coming out, I rented the original. If you remember that film, it is incredible fun with plenty of swashbuckling and humor.
The sequel (which we saw a day after the original) pales in comparison.
The story wasn’t one of action and peril… it was a slow, dry tale of a fighting couple. Aside from a quick opening scene, it’s almost an hour before you see Zorro in action again. ZZZZzzzzzzzzzz.
The only thing that saved the film was a few scenes with Zorro’s boy, and a hilarious moment or two with “horse.”
SHOULD KIDS SEE IT?
They’ll fall asleep. But sure. Just mild action violence and some slightly suggestive moments with Catherine Zeta and her low cut dresses. Truly PG.
