JAWS (6/20/1975)

Rated PG

Directed by Steven Spielberg (ET, Schindler's List, Jurassic Park . . .)

Starring Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss

JAWS is one of my favorite films of all time.

Not to be confused with any of the pathetic sequels, JAWS, the original JAWS that scared the entire U.S. out of the ocean, the JAWS that turned Hollywood's attention toward this new kid Spielberg, the JAWS that influenced Horror movies for the next three decades . . . yeah that JAWS. That JAWS was an incredible film. How quickly people forget.

Take the shark completely out of the film and the movie stands on it's own with strong performances, incredible cinematography, award winning editing and directing that you could teach a film class with.

Quint's story in the boat still brings chills to anyone who hears it.

So don't confuse it with all the other lame plastic shark films . . . JAWS was brilliant. 10 out of 10.(I don't give those away easily) And if you don't believe me . . . take the challenge. Rent it, turn the sound up, and watch it from beginning to end! I promise you, you'll be surprised!

SHOULD KIDS SEE IT?
If you don't mind them sleeping in your beds the next few nights.

Other than the fact that it will scare the pants off of them, there's a little bit of language and a lot of blood.
