Beverly Hills Chihuahua (3/3/2009)

Directed by Raja Gosnell (Yours, Mine and Ours; Big Mama's House)

Starring: the voices of Drew Barrymore, Andy Garcia, George Lopez, Cheech Marin, etc.

Rated PG for some mild thematic elements.

This movie was ridiculous family fun! Leave your brain at home and enjoy.

The story isn't anything new. Lost dog find its way home. But I guess the fact that it was a ritzy Beverly Hills Chihuahua made it fun.

I'll be honest. In the first five minutes of the film I thought this movie was going to be a dog (pun intended). But by about 7 minutes the film was rolling along pretty well. I was in a theatre FULL of kids, including my own 6th grade daughter, and they were loving every minute.

Thanks to the great one liners from George Perez, and some pretty good voice talents, the voice was good fun for parents too.

Predictable? Yes. Cliche'? Yes. But it's cute enough and full of enough talent that your entire family will enjoy. Personally, I'd wait for video.

SHOULD KIDS SEE IT?
Absolutely. Nothing objectionable at all.
