Rated PG-13 for crude and suggestive humor, and for language.
Directed by Dennis Dugan (Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore)
Starring Rob Schneider, David Spade, Jon Heder, Jon Lovitz
Don’t rent this film. The preview might have made it look cute… but the film is about as funny as two unrestrained, seventh grade, foul-mouthed boys in the locker room making comments that they wouldn’t want their parents to hear.
My son and I started this film… and at about 15 minutes into it, we turned it off. I watched the rest later by myself for the sake of this review and I’ll never get those 80 minutes of my life back.
This film will go down in history with Kangaroo Jack as one of those “preview makes it look not half bad” … but oh, the disappointment.
The story is about a trio of guys that try and make up for missed opportunities in childhood by forming a three-player baseball team to compete against standard little league squads.
Sorry… nice try. This film was as lame as it can be. Only further proof that Jon Heder has the thesbianic range of Keanu Reeves.
SHOULD KIDS SEE IT?
No way. Another typical PG-13 of late: get as gross as you can get, max out the cussing and sexual humor without getting the ‘R.’ If you want your kids hearing David Spade refer to lesbian sex scenes, or kids teasing grown men about being virgins, or sex and homosexuality jokes… sure, let your kids watch it.
Side Note:
As said above, we recommend you skip this film. But on the occasion that your teen actually has already seen it, you may want to dialogue about the film with them. These questions below may be a help to you.
