I received this email last week:

Jonathan,

My name is Debbie. I am a Producer for the FOX television show, Guinness World Record: Primetime. I am looking for people in the United States who may be a challenger for the Guinness record holder for most clothespins put on the face. Because you had this listed on your website, I thought you may know of someone that fits this bill. If you could let me know if you know someone…or even if you don’t, I would appreciate it. By the way, the record is 104 clothespins.

Debbie

I responded:

Debbie,
Great- but I’m sure there are some guidelines here. Are their written rules? For example:
-None attached to hair
-No clothespins attached to other clothespins
-None attached to beards or mustaches (especially on women!)
-Clothespins have to be attached on or above cheek

Jonathan

She responded:

Jonathan,

There are criteria that must be followed. First, no minors can participate in this challenge. Second the clothespins must be on the face only. That includes jaw line, cheeks, eyes, forehead, nose. It excludes hair, ears, beard, mustache etc.

Debbie

NO MINORS!!! There goes our market! Well, there you have it. A chance for US to play a game. Debbie’s “no minor rule” weeds out all the competition. Can you beat 104? Let me know!

Clothespins On Face

Great Game- always a great laugh!

Get four students up front, each with a partner. Give each partner about 50 clothespins (or 104 if you think they’re that good!). They have two minutes to put clothespins all over their partner’s face. The one with the most clothespins attached at the end of the designated time is the winner.
