Something for this week: Scalp |
Scalp (or “Duct Tape Tag” if you want to be a little more P.C.)
Divide into two teams. One team places a 1.5 foot long strip of duct tape horizontally on their backs. The other team places a 1.5 foot long strip of duct tape vertically on their back. (You can use different colored tape if you want and name the teams by the colors. i.e. Yellow vs. Black) Have teams separate in a large playing area, preferably at night. The object is to “scalp” the other team by pulling the tape off their backs. Once their tape is removed they are out of the game.

A youth culture resource you don’t want to miss |
Walt Muellar knocks the ball out of the park with his new site!
Last week I had lunch with Malt Mueller in Washington D.C. after he gave a presentation at the National Youth Summit put on by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). HHS came to Walt as an expert on youth culture today, seeking his input on how to deal with teen problems that confront our nation daily. If you’ve been to any of my seminars, you’ve probably heard me quote Walt or plug his site: www.cpyu.org I think Walt is the best Christian resource … strike that – the best resource for understanding today’s youth culture.
Walt’s new site rocks, so I asked him to write a personal note to you EZINE subscribers about it:
Dear “EZINE” Subscribers,
I hope you will find our newly designed and reconfigured Center for Parent/Youth Understanding site to be a big help as you prepare to share the unchanging Good News with teens growing up in a rapidly changing culture. As many of you know, we’ve been providing information and analysis on popular culture for years. I believe everyone who hopes to minister effectively to today’s students needs to see themselves as a cross-cultural missionary … that’s what we are.
Check out our new site – www.cpyu.org – it’s packed full of stuff that will help you in your youth ministry “missionary” venture. We’re going to work hard to keep it updated daily so you’ll want to stop by each morning. I’m a firm believer in what one theologian once challenged the church to do. He said, “Every Christian needs to start their day with their Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other.” Yes, we need to know the Word and the world. After you spend time in the Word, give us a visit. Keep up the good work!
Walt Mueller

There you have it. It’s a great site, I’m on it all the time. And don’t forget to subscribe to CPYU’s free biweekly Youth Culture e-Update as well.
