Something You Can Use: Puzzle Piece Invite

Are you looking for a cool new way to advertize an upcoming event or program hosted by your youth ministry? Then try our Puzzle Piece idea found on our FUN EVENT & ACTIVITY page.

A Way To Publicize Your Event: Puzzle Pieces:
After you have your event planned, and it comes time to do the crucial advertizing, go out and buy a jigsaw puzzle. (How many pieces in the puzzle depends on the size of your group.) The bigger the individual pieces, the better.

Then, write a simple note on the back of each piece. (Like, “I love you and am praying for you” or “Hope you can make it!”) Just make sure it is encouraging and inviting.

Put the puzzle piece in the envelope with the event information you will mail to students. Include a short little letter inside as well. We used this:

Dear Jordon,

You’ve probably already heard that we are having a lock in (for example) next Friday night. I definitely want you to come! We’re going to have lots of fun, and we want you to be a part of it.

Inside this envelope you will find a puzzle piece with a message written on the back. The Bible says that we are “being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives.” You are a “piece” of that!!!

So, bring your puzzle piece with you when we come. That way, our group will be complete because you are there…and our picture will be complete because you have brought it with you.

See you here next Friday!

In His Love,

Pastor Chris
THE ROCK Youth Ministry!

On the night of the event, have the un-mailed puzzle pieces already put together. When kids show up, ask them to place their piece into the puzzle. Then when it is (hopefully) complete, take a picture of it, and/or show the group that there are no “missing pieces” or “missing persons.”

NOTE: We do not recommend you using this idea for your “regular” programming, unless something special is happening. That way, the whole event is exciting for the students…even before it starts!
